Firebull S12 – powerful workshop convection stove with a solid door

At a glance: Who is this stove for?

The Firebull S12 with a solid door is a powerful wood-burning convection stove with 78.1% efficiency, designed to heat spacious workshops, warehouses and building sites of 180–500 m³ quickly. Its all-metal tubular construction has no glass to maintain, works reliably in demanding conditions, withstands rough handling and can radiate heat for up to 10 hours after the last load.

Description: A hard-working stove for demanding conditions

Looking for a heat source that can handle tough conditions? The Firebull S12 wood-burning convection stove with a solid door is for those who need high output, durability and minimal upkeep. It is a working tool rather than a decorative feature by the television. It reliably heats spaces of 180–500 m³ where an ordinary indoor stove might fail or suffer damage.

Its robust, all-metal industrial construction, inspired by Bullerjan-type stoves, is made for demanding surroundings. This workshop stove suits professionals, tradespeople and operators of industrial halls who need immediate, steady heat without cleaning soot from glass or worrying about cosmetic details.

Key features for tough conditions

  • Serious working output: 78.1% efficiency and adjustable output of 9–25 kW make effective use of every log, including in poorly insulated spaces.
  • Maximum mechanical durability: The solid door suits dusty premises where a viewing window would quickly become coated with tar.
  • Huge firebox: The S12 takes substantial logs up to 72 cm long (ideally 60 cm), reducing wood preparation and frequent refuelling.
  • Precise combustion control: Damper-controlled front, rear and secondary air inlets make it easy to adjust output to current needs and workshop temperature.
  • Curved tubular construction: It draws cool air in at floor level, heats it rapidly within the casing and sends it into the room in a strong airflow.

Where is it most useful?

  • Production, joinery and metalworking shops: For large workplaces where warmth must be restored quickly after industrial doors open.
  • Vehicle repair and technical facilities: A rugged choice for dusty areas, with no window to get dirty.
  • Renovations and building sites: The steel construction withstands site activity, while strong warm-air circulation helps dry fresh plaster and floors.
  • Agricultural buildings, warehouses and greenhouses: A steady heat source for maintaining temperatures in large spaces and protecting against frost.

Advantages over conventional radiant stoves

Ordinary radiant stoves release heat slowly and initially warm only the air immediately around them. The Firebull S12 instead acts as an efficient convection stove, moving warm air strongly and evenly through a large building. In a cold production hall or joinery, that means warmth soon, rather than hours later without a noisy fan.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

What warranty does the Firebull S12 have?

This Firebull S12 convection stove comes with a standard 3-year warranty, reflecting its reliability and durability in service.

What is the service life of the Firebull S12?

With correct operation, its service life can reach 20 years. It must not be overloaded for long periods or heated until the steel casing glows red. That does not happen when it is operated within the stated maximum output.

Can it be used as the main source of heat?

Yes, provided you choose a model with adjustable output and heating capacity suited to the space. This model covers 180–500 m³. The output must match the heat loss of your workshop, garage or other room.

Which fuel is suitable?

You can efficiently burn logs or wood briquettes up to 72 cm long. For maximum efficiency, 60 cm is the optimal length.

How long does one full load burn?

With dry, unsplit logs of optimal or maximum length and the air controls set for low-output burning, the stove can maintain a steady fire for up to 4 hours without refuelling.

How long does it give off heat after the last load?

It can burn and radiate heat for up to 10 hours after the last load of dry, unsplit roundwood. Set the air controls correctly to minimum and operate the stove for at least 8 hours beforehand to build up sufficient glowing embers. After it has cooled completely, the fire must be relit.

How often must ash be removed?

About once or twice a month. Firebull tubular stoves deliberately have no grate or ash pan: the fire burns directly on the bottom tubes and is lit on a bed of ash. Remove ash with a shovel or a suitable fireplace ash vacuum only when it reaches the lower edge of the loading opening. This essential insulating layer protects the bottom from direct heat. Repeated burning leaves very little fine dust.

How can excessive soot in the chimney be prevented?

Use only well-dried wood with moisture ideally below 20%. Wet wood reduces performance and produces large amounts of soot and tar. Do not keep the air supply fully restricted: too little oxygen prevents proper combustion and creates thick, heavy smoke.

How do I prevent smoke escaping while refuelling?

Ideally, add fuel when the previous wood has nearly burned away and embers remain on the ash. If the flue has a damper, make sure it is fully open. Before opening the door wide, fully open the primary and secondary air inlets.

Carefully release the handle and open the door only about 1–2 cm at first. Wait 5–10 seconds for flue gases to be drawn into the chimney. This equalises pressure between the firebox and the room and establishes the draught needed to keep smoke out of the living space. Then open fully, add the required logs promptly and safely, and close the door immediately.

Does the Firebull stove paint need to be cured?

Yes. Before first use, the paint must be heat-cured so that the surface finish hardens properly.

Curing procedure:

  • During the first firing, heat the stove gradually to its stated maximum output.
  • Maintain that output for approximately 2 hours.
  • Ventilate the room well. Odour and smoke can occur as substances are released from the paint.
  • Then let the stove cool completely.

The paint can also be cured outdoors, avoiding the need to ventilate a room. Follow these steps:

  • Place the stove in a safe location suitable for operation.
  • Connect a flue pipe at least 2 m high. This should be sufficient for curing the paint.
  • Heat the stove gradually to its stated maximum output.
  • Maintain that output for approximately 2 hours.
  • Odour and smoke can occur as substances are released from the paint.
  • Let the stove cool completely.
  • Once cool, move and install it in its intended indoor position.

Note: Noticeable odour and smoke can occur during the first curing fire. This is normal while the heat-resistant paint hardens.
